Whole Foods Deals

Whole Foods Deals

Today's deal, which is still available as of this writing, is $20 to spend on groceries for $10 at Whole Foods Market. Similar to the Gap deal that put Groupon on the map (a 50-percent-off discount at a national chain) the offer is attractive to mainstream consumers that wouldn't typically buy from LivingSocial. According to USA Today, "LivingSocial said it was selling roughly 115,000 an hour, which company spokesman Andrew Weinstein said is its fastest-selling offer ever. That's about 30 deals sold per second." It's an enormous win for the daily deals site, whose biggest competitor is Groupon. Organic food is all the rage these days, and for good reason.  Organic food is not genetically modified or sprayed with pesticide, and is generally more nutritious than conventionally grown food.  There's also another big difference between organic food and conventional food: the price.  Organic food is a lot more expensive.
